HIFU Non- Surgical Facelift

HIFU treatments are a popular option for those seeking a non-surgical facelift to tighten their skin.

What is HIFU

A High Intensity Focused Ultrasound treatment, HIFU for short, is a non-invasive treatment used for anti-ageing. HIFU treatments are a popular option for those seeking a non-surgical facelift to tighten their skin.

HIFU treatment uses ultrasound energy to encourage collagen production to make skin firmer. HIFU is a non-surgical treatment used to firm and tighten skin. It uses ultrasound energy below the surface of the skin, to the SMAS level to stimulate collagen production to help tighten, firm and lift skin.

Clinical trials have found HIFU to be a safe and effective treatment for refining wrinkles and offering face lifting benefits. Results are seen within a few months after treatment and without the risks associated with facelift surgery.

HIFU is suitable for the whole body, face, neck decollate, arms, thighs and buttocks,

How does it Work?

HIFU uses focused ultrasound energy to heat the skin at a deep level. At 60°C and 80°C, the targeted cells become damaged, which stimulates the body’s natural healing response, restarting the repair process that produces new elastin and collagen.

The natural production of collagen and elastin declines with age, leading to sagging skin, lines, and wrinkles. By aiding the production of new collagen and elastin, skin can become firmer and smoother, with wrinkles becoming less visible.

The HIFU energy is applied to a depth of 1.5-4.5mm in the skin, depending on the specific skin concern and area being treated. For example, a client with severe skin laxity may require a treatment at a deeper level.

HIFU cartridges to the depth of 1.5mm, 3.0mm, and 4.5mm are used during a typical facial tightening and contouring process. Some HIFU machines allow for use around the orbital eye area.

When will you see the results of the HIFU treatment?

Initially, improvements may be immediately obvious, but most people will see lifting, tightening, and firming two to three months after their treatment.

Because the skin needs time to repair, and produce new collagen and elastin, this won’t happen overnight! Your skin will continue to build up collagen, so further improvements may well be for up to six months after your final procedure.

When will you see the results of the HIFU treatment?

HIFU treatments may be carried out every 4-6 weeks, but as it can take around 12 weeks from your treatment for the results to become noticeable.  It is best to wait a while for the results of the previous treatment to be seen before deciding whether to have more treatments or not.  Further treatments can be helpful for further refining and lifting the face if required.

You can get top up sessions, as needed, or required, but once the desired result for your non-surgical facelift has been achieved, the treatment should last 1-2 years, depending on your age and lifestyle.

How the treatment is performed

• The procedure begins with removing the make-up and the skin is then cleaned with an antibacterial solution.

• The next step on the skin is marking, with a soft white pencil, which will be followed by the procedure.

• At the 3rd stage, a special gel to the skin is applies and the therapist selects the cartridge, depending on what effect is to be achieved.

• Each area to be treated has an application made by 2-3 different cartridges, that work on different layers of the skin. From the deep SMAS layer to the epidermis. At the last stage, the skin is directly affected by ultrasound. The treatment actively warms up the internal tissues and tightens the skin.

• The procedure lasts an average of 40 minutes to an hour, but in some cases the procedure can last up to 2 hours. The time of exposure depends on the area that must be worked on and the skin condition of the client.

• During the treatment, you should listen to your body, because the procedure should be virtually painless. If it feels too uncomfortable, or you are in severe pain or have a burning sensation, then the intensity of the treatment can be reduced to tolerate and comfortable setting.
