Microneedling

Increases the collagen and elastin will help tighten skin and firm the skin, reducing and preventing the thinning of skin due to the ageing process. Fine lines and wrinkles are smoothed and relaxed, enlarged pores reduced in size, and skin luminosity restored.

The Treatment

The treatment includes a mild skin peel, then a serum infusion is introduced during and at the end of the treatment and the application of moisturiser and SPF 50 sunscreen is applied.

As an addition, I suggest adding an RF (radio frequency) treatment prior to the Microneedling, as this bring the blood supply to the top of the skin and improves the results.

Scars

Skin-needling has had great success in reducing the appearance of scars. As a result, it will work equally with:

However, those with a history of Keloid scarring, these are strictly contraindicated and therefore, the Microneedling is not suitable for these.

Stretch Marks or Striae

Stretch marks differ from scars resulting from the trauma of an operation or stitches. When there is a rapid expansion of skin, the elastin and collagen matrix are stretched out of alignment, and the result is silver, pink or red lines (absent or containing), little of the collagen matrix. Stretch marks can take a considerable amount of time to see results.

However, when results are seen, they are often quite impressive. From case studies that we have seen, stretch marks respond better to an aggressive needling technique (a smaller number of needles in the cartridge). The trauma stimulates collagen and elastin to rebuild in the area.

Cellulite

Cellulite is caused by fat cells becoming swollen and pushing through the collagen and elastin matrix. When the fat cells push through the healthy basket weave matrix, they distort the matrix, producing the dimpled appearance associated with cellulite.

Many technicians use micro-needling to assist in improving this condition effectively. The exact mechanism by which this works is not yet fully understood. It is possible that microneedling benefits this condition by producing a new, more vital collagen and elastin matrix, which can better control the swollen fat cells.
